This past Sunday was the premiere of my new piece for trumpet and piano - Through the Lowland Valley. It was performed by my former trumpet professor Dr. Richard Tirk at Luther College. Man, did he nail it!
The Iowa Composers Forum held their new music winter festival and their 16th Annual Student Composers Competition at Luther College this past weekend, bringing in composers and performers from all over the Midwest to showcase some truly fantastic music.
Whew! My new piece for trumpet and piano is finished! And just in time, too! I just have to print it and deliver it, not too bad!
The piece will be premiered by my former trumpet professor (and fantastic performer) Dr. Richard Tirk. He'll be performing it at his recital at Luther College.
